Larissa's Salsa

(from Larissa Richards)

Ingredients:
Stewed tomatoes (3 cans)
Yellow Onion (1 medium sized)
Yellow hot pepper (1)
Jalapeño (1)
Cilantro (1 bunch)
Garlic Salt (5-7 shakes)
Onion Powder (5-7 shakes)
Avocado (optional)

 Preparation:

1.        Place stewed tomatoes in blender.

2.       Cut onion in quarters and place in blender (the onions should be cut in large pieces).

3.       Cut off the stems from the cilantro.  Tear off a small handful of cilantro and place in blender. Use cilantro sparingly.

4.       Cut stem off yellow hot pepper and jalpeno.  For those who cannot handle heat, remove seeds.  If you want a bit of spiciness, leave seeds in both peppers.  Place in blender.

5.       Shake garlic salt and onion powder into blender.  5-7 shakes of each should be sufficient.

6.       Blend all together.  Choose a blender setting that will chop or grate.  Do not puree or blend.  The salsa is meant to be chunky, so you should only have to use blender for several seconds.

7.       Taste Test.  Taste the salsa to see if it fits your tastes.  If too hot, add tomato.  If too tomato-ish, add onion and garlic salt.

8.       Optional, add diced avocado pieces for flavor and chunkiness (do not blend).

9.       Pour in serving bowl and refrigerate.
